Hi there!

Perhaps you already know about the self-love revolution. This idea belongs to Amy from A is for Ampersand. I want to get involved. I want to spread the world about self-love and self-esteem.

This is going to be a personal post. It's still hard for me to talk about this subject, but I'll do my best. I wanted to start a series about self-love a long time ago. I didn't do it. Maybe because I am a small blogger and I can't create a revolution. Maybe because I wasn't ready to talk about all these.

Well, now it's the time. I am ready. I know I can. I know we can. Here there are the reasons why I want to get involved:

I am a recovering anorexic. It's true. I said it only a couple of times in the past, because it hurts me to talk about it. The only reason I tell people I was an anorexic is because I don't want them to do the same mistake.
Anorexia is a real disease. It it not normal to hate yourself. It is not a girl thing. It is not stupid. People die. I was about to die.
February is National Eating Disorder Awareness Month
I don't want other people to do the same mistake
I was helped to recover. My family was there for me. My real friends were there for me. That's why I want to help.

I know people judge. I was judged. I was ignored by most of the people. I am a person who wants to do everything perfect, I am a person who want to be appreciated and loved. That's why I continued to starve myself. I though that if I was skinny, people will like me for who I was. It was exactly the opposite.

My message is to love yourself. Appreciate yourself. Give yourself a chance. Nobody's perfect. I want to encourage Amy in this revolution. It's worth it. Life itself is worth it.

This is an illustration I did yesterday evening. It's my first time drawing feathers and I already love them!

Well, I did this illustration, because I know how important it is to be different. Different in a good way. Better. Stronger. More creative. I consider myself a soft person, but also strong and unbreakable. I have a strong faith and I guide myself after it.

This is a reminder for the everyday life. We sometimes forget it and consider ourselves strange or awkward. Well, we're not. We're just special. I am sure of it.

The tree of hope

I love this kind of trees. I call them "tree of hope". It was painted with watercolors on thick paper back in 2011 and edited on the computer today, after a snow day :)

It was a magical day, I can say. Everything was white and shiny! I know I've already had two posts about the weather, but I just can't help myself. It is lovely!

A fairytale has just come true

It's snowing! Going outside now it's like reading a fairytale - magic! I took a moment today and went outside for a couple of minutes just to feel the snowflakes on my skin. Beautiful!

Anyway, tomorrow I have school and I can't enjoy it to the fullest, but maybe in the weekend. I am dreaming right now, haha.

Mondays are not that bad. Actually, I had a pretty good day and I am feeling tired (but good) right now. Yesterday morning (on Sunday) it has snowed for an hour. I was so excited that I spent that hour just admiring the snowflakes! Unfortunately, it melted right away.

Also, today I've thought about some projects that I want to start. One of these is a free e-course about illustration. Although I am completely self-taught, I would really like writing something like this. Are you in? If so, I'll start planning right away :)

Also, I've written a new page on the blog, Blog Buttons. If you have already read it, than you know that I am willing to make 'ad swaps' with blogs that share the same interests as mine. It's completely free :)

The box of aspirations

Hey!

A few weeks ago I made this little box (which is made of wood). It has a tree painted on the top and a tree pattern on the sides. I put a lot of time and attention in making this little piece, but I like how it turned out!

Here there are the sides. It is a 6 x 5 x 4.5 cm box. It is perfect for jewellery or small treasures! Also, it is varnished for protection :) It was a pleasure to work at! More to come, right?

Hey!

I've just found this mixed media painting and thought it would be interesting to share. It's a nun, actually a thoughtful one. It was painted a year ago.

I wanted to share this nun, because it was drawn right before I got sick. I was feeling thoughtful, although I had no reason for that. So I just wanted to say that it's okay to be sad or full of thoughts from time to time. Really. It is okay.

Now that I've gone through all that, I have to say I feel stronger. Better. More satisfied. Maybe sometimes, just sometimes, you have to go through hard times just to cherish the better times.

Hi, there!

These days I worked like crazy on some projects (a DIY, a new print and, of course, making this blog work). I've recently discovered a great blog, called My girl Thursday, which has a page with blogging advice. I've seen all the videos there and begun thinking. What should I do in order to have a regular audience? I know I AM myself. I really am now, after a period of doubts. I would love to have a pretty, pretty blog, read by pretty, pretty people. Those past days I received some great comments and I am very thankful for that. Do you think this is the way a beginning should be? I would love to know the stories behind your blog! Here are 3 things I learnt since 2009 about blogging:

1. Be yourself. I know this is a very common one, but it is very important. I mean, if you are yourself, then you will stand out in the crowd. I am very emotive person and being myself wasn't that easy in the beginning. Let the people who read your blog know you. You can always write about:

what you like
your greatest achievements
a trip
anything that it's not too personal and is worth sharing

2. Be constant. Nobody follows a blog which writes posts at months distance. I know this is my case and I am really sorry for that, but now I made it my goal to be constant on this little piece of universe.

3. Be positive. People often read your blog in their coffe break and nobody wants to read your problems. It's okay to post from time to time some posts, if you feel like doing this, but don't make those problems the subject of your blog.

A new year has just started. We all have goals, dreams and maybe hopes. At least, I do! I've made my goals for 2012 at the end of December 2011 and pinned them to a board in my room. This way, I can read them whenever I feel like doing this!

I think 2012 will be the year of achievements. I think it will be a big year! Really.

One of my goals for 2012 is to blog at least five times a week. I didn't started this goal from the first week of the year, because I had to make some plans. Think about it. Start a notebook full of ideas. In the end, I know it will be worth it!

Hello, there!

Yep, I'm still living. And I am good, I could say. I am really busy with school and homework, but I am also dreaming about my handmade world. You read right. Handmade.

I've opened a shop on Breslo.com, a site about handmade. I am very proud to say I had my first order *blush*. Right now, in my cozy home, I am painting a canvas, which is almost finished. I am working on it for more than a year, so, yep, I should be ashamed of myself.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe it's already September. Seriously, it don't feels like autumn here at all - we're still having 33 degrees Celsius. Can you believe that? I don't!

Today, on the Teen Vogue's site, I've discovered the fall collection of Charlotte Ronson and I have to say it's amazing. I like the concepts, the colors. I love everyting about it. Check it out.

I love the boots (always wanted to own such a pair). Also, the tights are incredibly chic and, oh my, the jacket - I like the collar.I really enjoy the strips on the shirt and also, the sunglasses are a must.

London - the capital of endless beauty // part two

Here there is the emblem that stands on the top of the Buckingham Palace's gates. Can you imagine that in the back of those gates happends to be the Queen, the guardians and the whole story?
Here I am in front of the statue of Queen Victoria. At the bottom of the statue there is written "Victoria- Regina Imperiatrix". It's so stunning and worth visiting!There we are. Here, my aunt was taking the picture of the rest of us on the bridge, while we were admiring the Tamisa River. Right near us, there was the London's Eye and in the back, the Parliment.
And, of course, the famous Big Ben, from where the clocks are set in the entire world.

There are many, many more pictures taken and words to say, but I don't want to make from this post a sea of photos. I'll share gradualy, so that I won't bore you in any way :)

London - the capital of endless beauty // part one

So, on 6 August 2011, right before the attacks started, my mother, my aunt, my uncle and me came to chase the beauty of London. I can't express in words how many butterflies this city gives me. I can only say that everytime I visit it I feel good. I feel complete. I feel more like myself.Right above, me and my beloved mom were opening the gates of faith, love and will. We were standing in front of the Buckingham Palace, where the Queen was home ( we knew that because the flag was stiff).

Here there is me standing in the back of the statue of Nelson and right in front of the National Galleries, which, I have to say, are fabulous. You have to visit them and admire the talent of so many painters.

Right here I am standing in front of a sign that guides you to the Westminster Abbey, which I've visited and it's absolutely amazing. The arhitecture is simply stunning. Also, the sign leads you to the House of Parliment, which, in my opinion, looks like a palace from the fairytales.

I've just popped up over here to say a little hello from home. To be honest, I haven't missed home that much. That's mainly because of the beauty that lays in every little thing there.

I can't explain how I feel everytime I arrive in the UK. It feels like I belong there and nowhere else. I love that country with all my soul. After Romania, it's my very favourite.

Yesterday was a tough day. It was the day before our math exam, which means we had a very stressful time. Anyhow, all day I tried to worry as little as possible and relax.

What I wore to the prom

Hey, there!

Our prom (we graduated the 8th grade) was an incredible experience for all of us, but I think it took me too long to talk about it. It happened on 26th May 2011, on a late night.

We danced,ate, laugh and simply felt good. I was so nervous about it that I could bite my nails. It ended out to be one of the best moments with my school ever. Thank you for making it so special, mates, teachers and friends! (and also thank you, my dear readers,for letting me share this experience with us).

Well, my outfit was long planned and well thought. After I saw the dress in the left of the page I completely fell in love with it and knew I had to have it,so I searched for the material on Ebay and then went to a local dressmaker- and it happened. It was all mine!
